About
Change The Channel watches television so you don’t have to. But you can watch it too if you like, no-one’s going to stop you.
Reviews
Pretty straight forward – the first time Change The Channel encounters a new program it scores a review. Even if the show’s a decade or so old, if it’s new to Change The Channel it gets a review.
Follow Up
When dropping in on a show that Change The Channel has previously reviewed, a Follow Up will be in order. A Follow Up will often appear at the start of a new season or if a show has changed drastically since its first episode and word needs to get out that things have markedly improved, or in some cases gotten much, much worse.
Thoughts
Anything that doesn’t fit into a Review, or isn’t worthy of a Follow Up, lands in Thoughts. Thoughts are usually reserved for musings on certain parts of a show rather than a discussion of the whole show. If a particular actor is giving a notably terrible performance, or if the ratings deserve a look than you’ll find those discussions under Thoughts.
Series
Series is the go to place for any show that Change The Channel has given episode to episode coverage for. All shows covered here will still appear under the ‘Shows’ tab.
Now that’s all out of the way let’s go watch some television.

Continue working on Smoking Tree, you ass.
I don’t know if I will. I’ve renewed the site for another year, so in case I change my mind I can jump back in.
I hope you do, I love that site like a person.

Why not merge word press into your domain name?
You mean like changetheWORDPRESSchannel?
“I watch television so you don’t have to.”
haha i so like your sarcasm. great blog!
So no more Smoking Tree?
Alas, no.
Spot-on review of Warnie. Found myself watching last night. Like a car crash, but one you can turn away from, which I did after 5 painful minutes.
How do I contact you about advertising on your site?
Jamie
Glad you liked the review.

RIP Smoking Tree.
We all mourn it’s lost. Please now, let us have a minutes silence for the Tree.
How the hell do you get to watch so much TV? I mean, it’s not the watching that’s time-consuming, I guess, I watch a great deal of it too, but I can’t devote my life to it like you have (though I would dearly like to). To watch as much as you do and then write about it would take…well, it’s a full time gig, surely? How do you do it?
Reveal your secrets!
Seriously though, do you have a job? Mind you, I want you to keep doing what you’re doing, but I also want answers so I can steal your life.
Haha. My girlfriend sometimes suggests that it’s taking over my life. Haha.
I wish this was a full time job, and not just a ridiculous hobby I’m a little obsessed with. I do have a REAL job that gets in the way of all the glorious television watching, haha, but I’d say an hour/hour and a half/two hours each day spent watching TV and reviewing that TV. Spend a Saturday watching/reviewing five shows and that frees up the week. But then after all those first episodes there’s the full seasons of great television that needs to be watched as well!
Ahuh, ahuh….that doesn’t help me at all. I don’t need lines intimating that productivity and good organisation/time management is the answer to my problems. I need the truth, something like “say these magic words, dance in a circle anticlockwise while daubed in chicken blood and all your wishes will come true.”
So, my suggestion to you is to make this a viable financial option (as to how…see above) and then hire me. Agreed? Good.
Haha. I’m not sure if it’s time management skills or the ability to have backwards priorities. “Should I spend my time watching television shows and then writing about them on the internet instead of something constructive?” Yes, yes I should.
where do you live, how old are you, what’s your work/study background?
can you do this kind of dissection BEFORE it’s actually television?
if you could be so astute while it’s still on the page you could save a lot of production companies – and a lot of networks – a lot of pain and a lot of money. I’m serious, dude: you need to be in television production or network programming.
What’s the old smoking tree site? I want some nostalgia
It’s lost to the sands of time… after the web address wasn’t renewed.
By the way, PD, remember me? I sent you that horridly written piece about the Morning Show when I was much younger but couldn’t be arsed to write *gasp* 700 words. Sorry about that. Glad to see you are still around.
Yeah, I saw the name Mookie and remembered you’d send me something. Good to hear from you again.
You were pretty much the God of Comedy to me back then. You still are, actually.
